As anyone with a pet companion can attest, animals enjoy and respond to being touched: a few gentle strokes can quiet a barking dog or set a cat purring. This is, in fact, an elementary application of massage therapy; it is also something that everyone can do. On the other hand, there are issues and situations that call for a trained practitioner and a professional approach.

Incorporated as AMTIL Inc. in 2006, AMTIL (Animal Massage & Therapies) was founded in 1998 for the purpose of making the benefits of massage and other holistic approaches to animal health as widely available to companion animals as possible. More than 100,000 visitors later, we are renovating the site to expand on this commitment by including a wider range of products and services and introducing new features.

As part of our mission, AMTIL has been providing a directory of free listings and website links for Practitioners of Animal Massage, Acupressure, Reiki/Energy Work, Herbal Therapy, Magnetic Therapy, Aromatherapy, Color Therapy, Animal Communication, Flower Essence Therapy, Homeopathy and other modalities; listings and links have also been provided to schools and instructors in these modalities as well as organizations dedicated to animal health and well-being.

AMTIL Inc. will continue to provide these directory services, and have enhanced the search capability to make them easier to use.

We are also proud to introduce our new affiliate program for practitioners designed to make the full spectrum of holistic products available to their clients while allowing the practitioner to concentrate on their areas of expertise. This program is also open to groomers, trainers, pet day-care facilities, and pet-supply stores.

AMTIL Inc. does not support or condone puppymills or “backyard breeders”, and will not accept affiliates that sell puppies or kittens.  Animals should be adopted, not sold;  adoption is a lifetime commitment. 

In recognition of the work that they do and the financial challenges they face, we have also developed an affiliate program for shelters and rescues. The ideal remains finding every animal a loving, permanent home; we hope with this program to help shelters and rescues deal with the realities of pet overpopulation and "unwanted" animals while working toward that goal.

Massage and other holistic, natural, “alternative”, integrative therapies and modalities are not a substitute for veterinary care, but rather a complement to it. Consult your veterinarian regularly, especially if any symptoms which may require diagnosis or medical treatment are present.

Features of the affiliate program for practitioners and pet supply stores:

Once they are accepted into the program, each affiliate receives a unique ID and password along with a link to www.AMTIL.com . When a customer uses the link, a tracking cookie is placed identifying the affiliate. The cookie has a lifetime of one year; every time the customer visits www.AMTIL.com and makes a purchase within that year, the affiliate's account receives a credit for 15% of the order total (not including shipping or any applicable taxes).
